On Saturday 9th November, Aspire Sports and Cultural Trust brought together teams from GL1, Oxstalls Sports Park, and Lunar City to celebrate the incredible work of their staff members promoting sports, fitness, and wellbeing across Gloucestershire. There were a huge number of nominations, which is a testament to the hard work of Aspire colleagues. The inspiring evening was kicked off by our guest speaker Delroy Ellis from Increase the Peace, a Gloucester-based organisation which works with children and young people to raise awareness of the consequences and impact of knife crime through workshops.
Increase the Peace were invited to attend and to present an award as their aim to better the lives of Gloucestershire residents reflects Aspire Sports and Cultural Trust’s own. This commitment to the local community is one of the criteria for many of the staff awards.
Jacquie Douglas, Chief Executive at Aspire, said: “We are delighted by the sheer number of nominations this year, totalling an incredible 288 votes. This really shows the high quality of staff we have, all of whom are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our community. With so many exceptional staff members to choose from, it was difficult to vote for a winner in any category.”
This event marked the second annual staff awards, designed to celebrate those teams and individuals who go above and beyond expectations to provide the best fitness and wellbeing support to the Gloucester community.
Jacquie adds: “The Aspire awards evening has become a highlight in my diary and all of us at the charity and we are incredibly proud of our staff. Our finalists represent our values to the core: trust, respect, responsibility, professionalism, and honesty.”
Congratulations to all the winners and finalists in this year’s staff awards.
