The GL1 web pages provide you with all the information you need to plan your visit to GL1.

The leisure centre operates on a 'pay and play' basis and is open throughout the year.

In order to promote a healthy lifestyle NO SMOKING is permitted within any part of GL1 or Horizons.

Public Wi-Fi wireless internet access is available throughout GL1, via "The Cloud".

DISABLED ACCESS

The complex has excellent access and facilities for disabled visitors with easy access to all areas. Disabled parking is available outside the front doors, and lifts or ramped access to all areas. Hearing aid induction loops, disabled changing and toilet facilities and swimming pool chair lifts have been integrated into the complex.

POOLS

GL1 has a magnificent complex of 4 pools with a variety of sessions for beginners and splashers to serious swimmers. Have fun with the slide, jets, geysers and bubble beds of the Tad Pool. Learn or improve your swimming in the Elver Pool. Clock up a few lengths in the vari-depth Barton Pool, or take part in specialist sessions in the Twyver Pool.  For details of swimming pool opening times, click here

HEALTH & FITNESS

Horizons, the state of the art fitness centre, situated in the heart of GL1.

This friendly and modern facility comprises a large fitness arena with the latest cardiovascular and resistance equipment. It also houses an impressive exercise studio offering innovative and dynamic classes to suit all levels of fitness. Complete your Horizons experience by visiting the calm and tranquil setting of the Health Spa, where you can relax in the sauna, steam room, spa and lacuna. Feel the 'feelgood factor' at Horizons.

SPORTS

The superb Glevum Hall with its sprung Granwood floor, the fully equipped Gymnastics Hall, Martial Arts Room, 4-rink bowls hall, activity room and 4 squash courts combine to offer a full range of indoor sporting activities. Whether you want to take part as an individual or team, have coaching or just spectate - GL1 has the sport for you.

ENTERTAINMENT

A wide range of spectator events will take place at GL1 throughout the year. The Glevum Hall can quickly transform into a 1750 seat concert hall for comedy and light entertainment or 2000 capacity pop concert venue, as well as hold sporting events both regional and national. GL1 offers both a high-tech training facility and corporate hospitality venue to meet the expectations of local clubs and business community alike. The Redwell Room boasts the latest in audio-visual equipment for meetings and seminars, while the Glevum Hall and function rooms can cater for a wide variety of conferences and exhibitions.

CAFÉ & BARS

Two licensed bars, function rooms and café combine to make an ideal relaxation area right next to main reception. Children's birthday parties are also catered for.
