Aspire Trust run a number of training course covering First Aid training, Lifeguard and Lifesaving Courses as well as ASA Swim Teacher Courses.
National Pool Lifeguard Qualification 7th Edition (Revised)
A comprehensive training programme for the person who wants to become a pool lifeguard.
This award is valid for two years.
National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches
The aims of the NRASTC are to identify: Potential hazards, the importance of Pool safety operating procedures, appropriate emergency action. The NRASTC is not a lifeguard award, it is recognised by RLSS, ASA, and ISRM to provide teachers and coaches with their own lifesaving award.

Three Day First-Aid at Work
This comprehensive course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way.
The course comprises of a minimum of 18 hours spread over at least 3 days and covers a wide range of subjects including: Heart attacks, choking, fractures, poisoning, resuscitation, head injuries and more.
On completion, subject to assessment, all participants will be issued with a First Aid at Work certificate approved by the Health and Safety Executive. This is valid for three years.
Two Day First-Aid at Work (Requalification)
This is the re-qualification for all First Aiders to renew their certificates detailed in the Four-Day course above.
It covers the same subjects and lasts for 12 hours spread over a minimum of 2 days.
On successful completion, each participant is awarded a certificate valid for a further 3 years.
One Day Emergency First Aid at Work
The minimum requirement for an employer is to appoint one person to take charge of the First Aid arrangements. This includes looking after equipment and facilities and calling the emergency services when required.
This is a 6 hour course covering subjects including:
Responsibilities and reporting, assessment of the situation, control of bleeding, heart attacks and more.
There is no formal assessment for this qualification, and it is valid for 3 years.
One Day Defibrillation
Automated External Defibrillators are becoming more common throughout a range of workplaces.
A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically increase if an AED is available and you have appropriately qualified personnel to use it.
This is a 6 hour course consisting of theory and practical work along with an assessment.
The qualification from this course is valid for 12 months. Refresher training of two hours is required every 6 months to keep certificate valid.
