Swimming

GL1 has a magnificent complex of four pools with a variety of sessions from beginners and splashers to serious swimmers and also offer comprehensive swimming lessons for adults and children aswell as pool parties.

Please note: During the Christmas period there will be no fun session.

Our Pools:

Barton Pool (below right)
An 8 lane 25m competition pool, suitable for national and international competitions as well as community use.  The pool has a variable depth floor, which is altered to suit different swimming sessions.

Twyver Pool (below left)
An 4 lane 25 metre pool (fixed depth 0.9-1.8m) suitable for lane swimming and specialist sessions. The programme changes throughout the year to encourage a healthy lifestyle and cater for everyone's swimming needs. Whether you want to be the next Olympic swimming champion or just learning to swim, GL1 is for you!

Elver Pool
A shallow learner pool primarily for teaching children to swim in our popular swim school programme, but it is also open for public use when lessons are not taking place.

Tad Pool (below right)
A children's fun pool with slide, bubble seat and water jets for the under 11's (please see our pool admission rules).

Pool Changing Areas
The changing areas for all four pools are situated adjacent to Pool Control. The area has both individual and family changing cubicles and showers, plus separate male and female shower / toilet blocks, baby changing and disabled facilities. In addition 4 lockable group-changing rooms are available on request.
